EMMA DALENBERG ASKS THE QUESTION: IS BALL, LIFE?
“Ball Is Life” is a term originated in the United States of America, used by individuals who believe basketball is more than a game. It is a way of life. Growing up with teen parents in rural America, basketball provided a safe space for Emma. Despite being the most uncoordinated child on the team, ball was life. After suffering from a major knee injury, the hoops went away, and Emma was launched into a new reality where she felt ball could no longer be life. Still today, struggling to understand her identity and purpose without a ball, Emma returns to her childhood, and tries to find a new meaning in the term that can carry her through this strange and convoluted lifetime.
