Sylwia Schwartz
Sylwia Schwartz is a Polish-born performer who started exploring the comedy world over 15 years ago. She began in theatrical improvisation in Poland, took a break for a career in science, then reignited her passion in 2020 with the Barcelona Improv Group (BIG). Since then, she’s trained at BIG extensively in short-form, long-form, musical, puppet and clown improv with instructors like Kiva Murphy, Ella Galt, Leanne Shellshear, Pol Subirana and Joanna Kucharczyk. Her development continued through workshops with renowned international teachers such as Jill Bernard, Andel Sudik, Will Naameh (MC Hammersmith), Kevin Scott, Rama Nicholas, Eric Davis (The Red Bastard), Heather Urquhart and Joel Samuel, Sasha Hoedemaker, Chris Griswold, Jennifer Bareilles, Billy Kissa, Jodie Pfleghar, Nick Maaß and Martin Bare. Sylwia’s performances span classic formats, experimental work, and genre-based shows. She co-founded the improv duo Black and White, performing their original show Decadence in Barcelona and at the International Improv Festival in Sofia. Sylwia has appeared in major festivals, including Irreverente (Lisbon, 2022), BIG Sing (Barcelona, 2023 and 2025), and the Sofia International Improv Festival (2023). In 2023, she ventured into stand-up, and by 2024, she founded and hosted her own open mic, On Tap Comedy, at Imprfcto Poblenou. She has performed at top venues like The Comedy Clubhouse (Roast Battle, Midweek Crisis, Fat Goose, Funky Chunky), Secret Comedy Club, and Metamorphosis. In 2024, she co-created Eurotrash, a split-hour comedy show debuting in the Barcelona Fringe Festival. During the First Barcelona Fringe Festival she participated not only as a performer but also as a showrunner hosting many improv, standup and clown shows.
